Jared Louis Stein was born in New York City, and raised between Madrid, Philadelphia, Wyoming, and New York. He now lives and works primarily between New York City and the Shawangunk Ridge.

Stein received his BFA in Sculpture from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St Louis in 2015, and his MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art in London in 2023.
